What is BATSO?

BATSO is a trade marked abbreviation of BATtery Safety Organization.

As a test seal, BATSO shows the safety level of a battery which has been tested according to the standards of
BATSO organization. These standards comply with relevant UN tests and include environmental aspects. A test laboratory for battery testing according to BATSO standards is located in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

BATSO is a cooperation project between ExtraEnergy and ITRI and the renowned testing organizations TUV Rheinland Taiwan, and UL Taiwan, not a formally independent organization.

 

Why BATSO?

The goal of BATSO is to increase safety of new battery technologies.
Standardized testing methods will guarantee a fast and economic way of battery testing.
BATSO test seal will help all parties involved in the Light Electric Vehicle business to find and use safe and reliable batteries.
