BATSO @ Taipei International Cycle Show 2012
The BATSO workshop will take place on March 6th, 2011 – the day before the Taipei International Cycle Show opens its gates. The workshop is open to all industry representatives and of course all other interested parties.
BATSO gets Formal legal Structure
What used to be an informal cooperation between a few visionaries turned into a formal organization on 7 April in Cologne, when BATSO e.V. was formally established as an association with the long-term goal of getting the IEC to endorse BATSO 01 as the industry standard for battery safety. The formation of BATSO e.V. was an important step on the way towards this goal.
First BATSO certification
The Suzhou Phylion Battery Co. was awarded China’s first Battery Safety Standards and Certification Organization, BATSO certificate in March 2010 by Germany’s TÜV Rheinland Group.
First BATSO Technical Committee Meeting held in Shenzhen
On March 22-23, 2010 the first BATSO Technical Committee Meeting was held in Shenzhen, China. About 40 international participants visited the TÜV Rheinland Battery Testing Center and in-depth discussed further steps in battery safety testing as well as amendments to the BATSO 01 manual.
Breakthrough for BATSO 01: TUV Rheinland Runs New BATSO Testing Lab
TÜV Rheinland Group China has established a testing service for LEV batteries in South China. Tests for lithium batteries according to the BATSO 01 standard are performed at the new battery laboratory in Shenzhen. In Europe there are also a few qualified testing houses. The conditions of a large-scale electric scooter project in Taiwan are based on the BATSO 01 Manual.
BATSO 01 Manual Released
With the release of BATSO 01 Manual on March 18, 2008 in Hsinchu, the BATSO project has reached an important milestone on the way towards safer batteries used in light electric vehicles. BATSO was a major topic at LEV Conference and Workshops in Taipei and Hsinchu on March 15 - 19, 2008.
Workshop in Nuremberg: BATSO-01 Premiere
On Nov 13, 2007, during a workshop for engineers, the BATSO testing standards for battery safety were discussed. Representatives of the international LEV industry showed a clear interest to join the Technical Committee and define the testing standards.
